Sandra "Sandy" Lynn Collins

Sandra Lynn “Sandy” Collins, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Walnut Cove. She was born on September 27, 1951, the daughter of the late Buford and Kathleen Helmandollar. Sandy retired as a registered nurse, who will be remembered as a free spirit who loved animals. She loved the beach, beach music and shagging. Sandy also loved to travel as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her three sons, Jason “Jay” Charles, Jason Charles (Sophia) and Matt Charles; eight grandchildren; a brother, Kerry Helmandollar and a special “little” Reece Childress.
