Sanford Maynard

Sanford N. Maynard, 89, formerly of 1919 Lake Drive, Winston-Salem, NC died Monday, December 22, 2008. Mr. Maynard was born November 12, 1919 to Sanford A. and Eliza Williams Maynard of Yadkin County. Mr. Mr. Sanford Maynard was a veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre with the 8th Infantry Division. He worked for Western Electric Corp. for thirty-five years, retiring in 1981. Mr. Maynard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Emma Louise Howell Maynard. Surviving to cherish his memory are two sons; Ronald Maynard and wife, Naomi of Winston-Salem, Larry Maynard and wife, Ramona of Cary, NC, three grandsons; Michael Maynard and wife Amy of Winston-Salem, Ryan and Tyler Maynard both of Cary, NC and a great-grandson, Alex Maynard. The Funeral Service will be conducted 12:00 noon Friday, December 26 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by Rev. Alan Paschal officiating. A Military Graveside Service will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park with the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.
