Sarah Cook Roberts, 99, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was born on July 3, 1925, in Forsyth County to the late Rev. James Corbett Cook, Sr. and Mamie Faircloth Cook. A devoted member of Trinity Moravian Church since 1938, Mrs. Roberts lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 20 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Roberts was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Raising her children, supporting her beloved spouse, and cherishing her grandchildren were the cornerstones of her life. She will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit, unwavering spirit, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Franklin Roberts; two sons, Ricky James Roberts and Mark Lee Roberts; and her brother, Jimmy Cook. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian Roberts (Tanya); six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Salem Moravian Graveyard, with Rev. John Jackman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, or online at www.alz.org.
