Winston-Salem- Ms. Sarah Lou Norman, 79, died Friday, August 31, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 2, 1939 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Sidney Sanford Norman and the late Dora Fagg Norman. Ms. Norman graduated from Reynolds High School and Appalachian State University. She devoted 30 years to educating children, primarily fifth graders, in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and Charlotte/Mecklenburg School Systems. She was among the first group of teachers chosen for the Career Development Program. After retirement, Ms. Norman served as a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels. She was a member of Centenary Methodist Church. Surviving is one sister, Kathryn Diane Norman of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday September 5, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Craig Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 646 W. 5th St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101, The American Red Cross, 690 Coliseum Dr. N.W., Winston-Salem, NC 27106, The Second Harvest Food Bank, 3655 Reed St., Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
