Sarah Meadows Sale

Sarah Meadows Sale, 95, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sarah was born on March 31, 1930, in Forsyth County to the late Z.V. Meadows and Nell Fogleman Meadows. On September 26, 1953, Sarah married Ronald Gordon Sale who preceded her in death in 2022 after 68 years of marriage.

Sarah was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church in Winston-Salem. She was a voracious reader, sports enthusiast and lover of animals. Sarah had a particular affinity for elephants, amassing an extensive collection of elephant figurines throughout her lifetime. However, nothing brought her greater pleasure than spending time with her family. Sarah was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her five sons, who were her pride and joy.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Sale and Jeffrey Sale.

Surviving family includes her three children, Ron Sale (Becky) of Indian Beach, Tim Sale (Tawana) of Tobaccoville and Greg Sale (Lisa) of Lewisville; seven grandchildren, Katie, Steven, Ian, Emily, Kelly, McKinley and Ashlynn; and six great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held in celebration of Sarah’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Mountain Valley Hospice, https://mountainvalleycares.org/ways-to-give/donate/, or an organization of your choice.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care and compassion they showed to Sarah, with special gratitude to Shannon, Rebecca, Lindsey, Juanita, Chaplain Drew and Stacey, her home caregiver. Sarah’s family would also like to thank the staff members of Knight Riders that came to receive Sarah at the home after her passing for their professionalism and kindness.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the Sale family. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
