Sarah "Sally" Aleys Sheppard Clark

Sally passed into the arms of her savior on Thursday September 26, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was the beloved and cherished daughter of Ronald E. and Vicki W. Sheppard. Sally was born April 3, 1969, in Winston-Salem, NC where she attended Summit School. Sally graduated from First Colonial School in Virginia Beach, VA, attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Norfolk, VA, University of Richmond, Richmond, VA, and graduated with a BA from Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC in English Literature, Arts and Language.

Sally was fluent in French and Spanish. She was always attracted to all cultures, people, languages and food. Her international travels inspired her fashion interests. 

Sally was employed by True.IP Solutions, Winston-Salem, NC. She was always devoted to her family, her church, her profession -- and the well-being of all rescue animals.

In addition to her parents, Sally is survived by her husband, John C. Hughes; son, Maximilian (“Max”) Dean Clark and daughter, Cosette (“Coco”) Aleys Clark of the home; brother, John Patrick Sheppard of Winston-Salem, NC; a stepdaughter, Mary Jordan Hughes, and former mother-in-law, Terri I. Pritchard.

A Celebration-of-Life Service will be held at 7 PM, Tuesday evening, October 1, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, or to a favorite animal rescue shelter. 

Sally’s strength of will, great sense of humor, and contagious laughter will long be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
