Savannah Jones Smith

Mrs. Savannah Smith, 91, of Surry County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025. Born on May 3, 1934, in Surry County, Savannah lived a simple yet full and joyful life, filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family.

Savannah found great joy in the beauty of nature and spent countless hours tending to her gardens. Her green thumb and love for the outdoors made her home a place of color and peace throughout the seasons. She was also a talented craftswoman who enjoyed cross-stitching and was well-known for her beautiful handmade Christmas balls—treasured keepsakes admired by all who received them.

A lifelong lover of dolls, especially Barbie dolls, Savannah kept a youthful spirit and a creative heart. She cherished time spent with family and friends, and her home was always open for gatherings full of laughter, good food, and love.

Growing up in a large family of ten children, Savannah was the last surviving sibling, having outlived them all. She was married for over 50 wonderful years to the love of her life, Pete Smith, who preceded her in death, along with their beloved son, Wayne Smith.

Savannah is survived by her loving granddaughter, Amy Johnson (Reed), and her cherished great-grandson, Donovan Hutchins, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Savannah’s legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the warmth, beauty, and love she shared throughout her 91 years.
