Scott Edward McClelland

Scott Edward McClelland, 67, of Kernersville, NC passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born to the late Marc Mermod McClelland and Nancy Susan McClelland on June 13, 1957, in San Bernardino County, California. Scott graduated from Georgia Tech University with a bachelor’s in science. He went on to work for Texas Instruments, Siemens and WESCO Industrial as an engineer for over 30 years of his career. Scott spent his free time doing many things that he loved such as playing his guitar and singing, exploring nature, hiking, rock climbing, geology, star gazing, listening to classical rock, art collecting, and much more. In his earlier years, Scott spent most of his time traveling. He grew up as the son of a Navy General and traveled all over the world from Spain to California. Scott will be remembered as a family-oriented man who always put others first.

In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Gregory McClelland.

He is survived by his loving sons, Christopher McClelland (Jamie Ohants), Jason McClelland (David Lyall), and Eric McClelland; brothers, Gary McClelland (Hilary), and Kevin McClelland (Wendy Hudson); five nieces; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to National Parks Conversation Association in honor of Scott at support.npca.org.
