Scott Douglas Richmond

Mr. Scott Douglas Richmond, age 66 of Winston-Salem, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1960 in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Joseph Richmond and Catherine Andrews Richmond and raised in Northfield, NJ. After graduating from Mainland Regional High School in 1978 he continued his education at University of North Carolina Wilmington where he completed his B.S. degree in Environmental Science.

He is survived by his sister, Gail Richmond; niece Caroline; nephews Michael and Matthew; and his best friend dog Winston. He will be greatly missed by Bobbi Bradley, a special friend, and will be remembered by countless others whose lives he touched.

Scott’s life was full of adventure and his wanderlust led him to reside in over a dozen states and visit all but a half dozen. He always returned to the east coast to be close to his beloved ocean. Scott’s favorite memories include surfing the early morning swells, evening sails during smooth, quiet tides, and many shoreline walks with various dogs.

Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private scattering of the ashes. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
