Shane Hensley

Winston-Salem-Mr. Shane Daniel Hensley, 41, passed away Friday September 29, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born October 7, 1975 in Chapel Hill; was a 1993 graduate of Cummings High School; a 1997 graduate of NC Central University with a degree in criminal justice and was also trained in law enforcement. Shane had a passion for protecting and helping others which led to his education and earlier career in security and law enforcement. His passion also flowed through to his family life and how he protected and provided for his family. He was an amazing son, husband, father, brother and friend. He went above and beyond, and constantly put other's needs before himself. He was a huge supporter of 2nd amendment rights. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Russell Elzey who was his father figure. Survivors include his wife Tia S. Hensley; four daughters, Amanda (Alex) Biehler of Winston-Salem, Kayla Stone of Winston-Salem, Presleigh Stone of Winston-Salem and Kaelah Shields of Burlington; his mother, Bonnie Craig (J.D.) of King; a sister Shanon (Chris) Norris of Burlington and a niece and Goddaughter, Kira Norris of Burlington. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Joe Houser officiating. Interment will be private.
