Sharon Rae Webster Idol

Sharon Rae Webster Idol, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, August 17, 2026, in her residence. She was born on January 29, 1943, to the late Howard Webster and Virginia Vandarsdall. Sharon will be forever remembered for her calm demeaner. She can be described as easygoing and compassionate. In her younger years, Sharon played 10 years of softball and valued the sport’s competitiveness and teamwork. She was incredibly devoted and loyal to her friends and family, and she truly never met a stranger. Sharon never failed to call and sing “Happy Birthday”, or just to have a long chat with those she cared about. She found joy in working in the yard. Any florals gifted to her would be planted, and she would watch to see what would return the following year in her garden. She found joy in her simple, quiet life- mainly as a stay-at-home mother. Sharon will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her stepmother, Pauline Webster; as well as 5 siblings, Anita Jan, Howard Grey, Deborah Lynn, Daniel Lee, and Paul Douglas.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sherri Idol; two sons, Christopher Idol and Dennis Idol; a brother, Robert Wayne Webster; a sister, Becky Elaine Luck; a special friend, Holly Brooks; as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Union Cross Moravian Church with Rev. Adam Goodrich officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-10:45 AM. Interment will follow the service in the church graveyard.
