Sheila Denton

On Monday, July 30, 2018 Sheila Louise Ledford Denton, 60, of Clemmons peacefully departed this world for her Heavenly home, surrounded by love. In spite of the aggressive cancer, numerous health issues, pain and uncertainty. Mom exhibited amazing strength and grace embodied with peace that surpasses all understanding. This beautiful, strong, selfless, sweet, loving soul was ready and excited to meet her savior, Jesus, as well as her precious grandbabies. We have no doubt that mama is singing with the angels, praising our Lord…joyous, healthy and free!
Sheila was a beloved mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was alternately known as Mama, Nana and Nanny. Sheila was born in Forsyth County to Doris Fritts (Raymond) on June 18, 1958 and adopted by the late John and Hattie Ledford. Sheila married Edward Denton October 8, 1977. They were married for 25 years. Out of their love and union, Stacey and Adam were born.
We were blessed with a fantastic mom. She was a thoughtful, amazing woman with a beautiful light and a smile that would light up a room! She loved God, her grandkids, her children, family and friends, her church family. Other than spoiling her grandkids, mom enjoyed family time with delicious food, painting beautiful ceramics, trips to the mountains and the beach and working in her flower garden.
Mom, you have given so much and asked for so little in return. Thank you for always being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping and forgiving us, sharing God's love, loving us, and always, always encouraging us and praying for us. We miss you so much, sweet mama. You were simply magnificent. We're so thankful God chose you to be our mom. We find comfort knowing we will see you again one day.
Along with her parents, John and Hattie (who passed away when mom was 12), Sheila was preceded by her birth mother, Doris Fritts; grand-daughter, Jade Sheila-Anne Banner; son in law, Paul (PJ) Banner, Jr; two loving stepmothers, Isabelle and years later, Evelyn; a niece and great niece Cindy Tetrault and Heather, a niece Tami Fritts
She is survived by a son, Adam Denton (Taylor) and daughter, Stacey Denton Banner; grandchildren, Dylan; Grace; Braydon; Carter; Wyatt; Caroline and Luke; five brothers and three sisters; two stepbrothers and a stepsister along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many who loved her. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Trinity Community Church, Lewisville, NC.
