Sherron Dempsey

Boonville - Mrs. Sherron Wilson Dempsey, 77, passed away at her home on Jan. 31, 2018. She was born on Dec. 8, 1940 to John R. Berdahl and Ruth Sykes Berdahl in Circle Hot Springs, Alaska. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served for many years as a Eucharistic minister. She loved to teach the faith to others. Sheri also volunteered at Mountain Valley Hospice while her health permitted. In her later years she spent much of her time gardening. Sheri had a kind and generous nature. She will be remembered for her joy-filled attitude, loving smile, and sweet voice asking, "Are you on your way?" Surviving are her husband of 7 years, Jock Dempsey; children, Dantea Sjegren (Stan), Jim Wilson (Mary Middleton), Michael Wilson (Tammie), and Avis Fitzgerald (Thomas Schumacher); 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; siblings, Jadine Melville, and Johnny Berdahl (Charlotte); and special friends Kathy Giordano and Mary Joyce. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Mon., Feb. 5, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church with inurnment following in the church columbarium. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
