Sherry "Erky" Kemper Casstevens

Mrs. Sherry ""Erky"" Melissa Kemper Casstevens, 49, of Kernersville, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on February 12, 1967, in Oklahoma to Robert Leo and Donna Rose Rector Kemper. She was a business owner. Sherry loved her family very much, especially her husband of 22 years, Barry, birds and their fur babies. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys. Sherry enjoyed gardening and loved to travel especially to the beach and the mountains. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Kemper. Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Barry; her father, Robert ""Bob"" Kemper; one brother, Danny Kemper; her neice, Lauren Kemper; and two special people who helped with her care, her cousin Sharon Eastridge and best friend April Mathis. Sherry will be missed by all who knew her. A funeral service for Sherry will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Gerald Chrisco officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm on Tuesday prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to a local animal shelter.
