Mrs. Shirley Jackson Fosdal, 64, of Lexington passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at her home. She was born April 27, 1949 in Surry County to Harry Joseph and Mary Garris Jackson. Mrs. Fosdal was employed by Bowman Gray School of Medicine with 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Fosdal and two sisters, Peggy Hayes and Mary Frances Jackson. Surviving are two daughters, Sherri Moser King and husband Rich of Lewisville and Angie Moser Silver and husband Jason of Lexington; four grandchildren, Cameron and Christopher King and Alexandra and Dylan Silver; a step son, Brekka Fosdal of Iowa; a brother, James Jackson of Clemmons; two sisters, Elizabeth Blevins of Winston-Salem and Brenda Freeman of Kernersville; several nieces and nephews and her furry feline companion, Catherine aka ""Cat"". A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Wesley Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27013 or to the Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
