Shirley Ann Marjarum Guest

Shirley Ann Guest, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Winston-Salem, NC. Shirley was born on April 4, 1935, in Trenton, New Jersey and spent her life dedicated to her loving husband and family. She was a 1954 graduate of Hamilton High School West and longtime member of Hamilton Square Baptist Church before moving to North Carolina and joining College Park Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.

Shirley was a creative homemaker who loved finding surprising ways to entertain her children. From making an ice-skating rink in the backyard to convincing her husband that the kids should have a pony, she kept life interesting. Shirley most enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was for a big holiday dinner, a vacation at the shore or camping in the rolling hills of New England. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and crocheting and sharing these special talents with family and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband William F. Guest, her parents Walter Ross and Marion Sexton Marjarum, and sister Audrey M. Reed. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Richard K. Guest and Sue (Denver, CO), Terri L. Goodman and Noah (Winston-Salem, NC), and Ronald S. Guest and Melanie (Bedford, NH); her grandchildren, Cameron N. Goodman, Matthew T. Goodman, Michele V. Deris (Alex), Daniele P. Guest, Adam W. Guest (Tana); two great-granddaughters, Lydia and Marilyn, brothers-in-law Robert J. Guest (Trenton, NJ) and Bruce W. Guest (Joan) (Skillman, NJ), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will cherish her memory.

A service of love and remembrance will be held in Hamilton Square, NJ. Arrangements pending. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Senior Services of Forsyth County-The Williams Adult Day Center (114 West 30th St, Suite 400, Winston-Salem NC 27105).
