Shirley Jones Henry

Shirley Jones Henry, 94 of Kernersvillle, NC formally of Greenville, PA, passed away due to failing health on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. She was born on February 1, 1929 in Greenville to Arthur and Kathleen (Long) Jones. She married L. LaVere Henry on April 10, 1948. He passed on February 16, 1999. Shirley was a 1946 graduate of Penn High School, Greenville, PA. In 1989 she retired from the Pennsylvania Power Company as a Utility Specialist after 27 years of service. She was a member of St. Clements Episcopal Church in Greenville. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She always had the best family get togethers at the holidays and summer picnics. She will be greatly missed. Shirley is survived by a son, Mark (Cindy) Henry of Sharpsville, PA, daughters, Kathleen (Gary) Swartzbeck of Kernersville, NC, Melissa (Buck) Smith of Advance NC, grandchildren Todd Henry, Neile (Harry) Murn, Ashley (Steven) Overbeck, Chad (Amy) Swartzbeck, Lindsay (Josh) Pfaff, Kyle Smith, Katie (Jeff) Grande and 17 greatgrandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Wright and brother Norman Jones.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Clements Church 103 Clinton Street, Greenville, PA 16125 or Strayhaven Animal Shelter 94 Donation Road, Greenville, PA 16125.
