Spencer Gray Key, Sr.

DOBSON-Spencer ""Pino"" Gray Key, Sr., 85 a devoted husband and father went to meet his Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 30, 2017. He was born October 3, 1931 in Surry Co. to the late Ernest and Ethel Wall Key. Spencer was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pilot Mtn. and a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He retired after 40 years of service with Hanes Hosiery. After retirement, he worked mowing and maintaining the grounds at Pilot Knob Park. Pino was an avid golfer, and loved NASCAR, UNC Tar Heels, the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Panthers. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Tilley Key; his son, Spencer Gray Key, Jr. and fiance', Erica Smith; one brother, Jack Key; two sisters, Betty Jean ""Sis"" Hayden husband, Bill and Lillie ""Cudy"" Brown and husband, Eddie; and a very special friend and caregiver, Ginger Lawrence. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Pilot Mtn. with Rev. Tom Hunter and Rev. Sidney Lanier officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Crestview Memorial Park with Dr. T.J. Tilley and Rev.
