Stanley Christopher Davis

Stanley Christopher Davis, 71, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at his home in Clemmons, NC. Stan was born in Bluefield, WV on March 28th, 1955 to Robert Ellsworth and Truby Josephine Davis. He is survived by his sweetheart Lorraine S. Davis, his children Natalie (Michael), Evan (Bridget), Whitney (Jeffrey), and Carly (Ryan), his brothers Victor (Rickie) and Vince (Cindy), his sister-in-law Suzanne, and his beloved 15 grandchildren: Avery (Isaac), Aidan, Lucy, Kaden, Deklan, Holden, Evangeline, McCoy, Beckham, Tennyson, Juliet, Henry, Callahan, and Mason.

Stan grew up in a loving home where kindness, devotion, service, and self sufficiency were both intrinsic and taught. When he was young, his family lived in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Virginia. At age eight, they finally settled down in the Winston-Salem, NC area. Stan spent the rest of his formative years there, running through the fields and woods and getting into good-natured adventures and mischief. Stan loved playing multiple sports including church basketball and softball. He also played high school football. He graduated from North Davidson High School. Afterwards, Stan served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Anaheim Mission. Upon returning, he obtained his Cosmetology License allowing him to serve his community for 50 years as a beloved hair stylist who truly loved and cared for his clients. Shortly after becoming a professional stylist, he met and married his sweetheart, Lorraine. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple on May 3, 1978. Stan and Lorraine were married for 48 wonderful years and built a beautiful life together in the Winston-Salem/Clemmons area.

Stan has been a pillar in his community, known especially as a skilled/caring hair stylist and a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Stan served in various roles within the organization of the church. No matter his calling, he put all of his heart and effort into serving.

While working full time, serving in his church, and being a husband and father of four children, Stan obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from High Point University. While this officially made him an educated man, Stan was always known as a Renaissance man, having vast stores of knowledge and a knack for figuring out almost anything.

For all of the ways he shined and reflected his light to others, his greatest accomplishment was that of a family man. Stan was the paragon of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He poured his heart, soul, and essence into fostering love and creating an environment that nurtured growth and happiness. His home was a home filled with faith, music, art, learning, laughter, and wonderful meals - it was nothing short of magical. Stan gave everything to build up his children and create memories and opportunities for them. He always made sure those people in his life knew he was proud of them, that he loved them, and that he was available to support and help them. He was a shining example of a man of God filled with unparalleled faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Stan was known for his cooking, his artistic and problem solving abilities, his kind and friendly nature, his willingness to serve others, and an uncanny capacity to help others feel loved. His beautiful and heart-felt prayers and blessings touched the lives of everyone around him. Stan loved life and loved those in his life, in word and deed. He was a shining example to so many people and touched so many lives. His memory will be cherished always.
