Stella Hicks

Mrs. Stella Mae Blankenship Hicks, 93, of Germanton passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Village Care of King.  She was born August 27, 1925 in Iredell County, the daughter of the late George Dewey and Sarah Reid Blankenship.  Mrs. Hicks was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  She was a member of North Forsyth Civic Club, Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at R. J. Reynolds for nineteen years and retired after giving birth to her son.  She was Vice President of Hicks and Burcham  Heating and Air Conditioning.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hicks, her brother, Clay Blankenship and her sister, Sarah Dickens.  She is survived by one son, Leland D. Hicks of Germanton; one grandson, Christian Wade Hicks; two granddaughters, Savanah Delaney Hicks and Mallory Claire Hicks; one sister Syvileen Mackie of Clemmons and one brother, George “Doc” Blankenship of Mocksville.  The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Bill Currie and Rev. Eric Tang officiating.  Burial will follow in Pfafftown Christian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 until 1:45 PM.  Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
