Stephen Vernon Carter

Mr. Stephen Vernon Carter, 64, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his residence on May 6, 2017. He was born on July 29, 1952 in Forsyth County to Mr. Paul Vernon Carter and Carolyn Vernon. Mr. Carter was a devoted Christian of the Baptist Faith. He worked for Burge Construction Company and then worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for most of his adult life. Mr. Carter was an avid football and Nascar fan and loved working with wood and carpentry. He is preceded into death by his father. Surviving is his mother, Carolyn Carter of Winston-Salem, two sons, Will Carter of Winston-Salem and Kenric Carter and wife Danielle of Rural Hall, one granddaughter, Audrey Carter, and a sister, Cheryl Brooks and husband Phil of East Bend. On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, the family will receive friends from 5:45-6:45 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Following the visitation there will be a brief family service.
