Steve Michael Howard

Steve Michael Howard, 82, a resident of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, October 19, 2026, at his residence. Steve was born in Wilkesboro, NC, on June 27, 1944, to the late John Bryant and Eileen Staley Howard. He was a graduate of Gray High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Guilford College. He worked as a stockbroker for many years and was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where he was involved with the Stephen’s Ministry. Steve was a veteran of the United States Army and served as a combat medic in Vietnam.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Beverly Santen (Joe); a niece, Mart Hart (Mike); a nephew, Joseph Santen (Brandi); a great-niece, Madeleine Chaney (Matthew); a great-nephew, Joseph Hudson (Kyarra); a great-great-niece, Hazel Chaney; his aunt, Marie Miller; an uncle, Alvin Howard; and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 520 Summit Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
