Steven Ira Laing

KERNERSVILLE – Steven Ira Laing, 58, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024. Steve was born on May 6, 1966 in Miami, FL to Charles and Nettie Laing. Steve was a member of The Crossing Church – North Main Campus and has worked for Winston-Salem Southbound Railroad for over 26 years. He also served in the US Army National Guard for 6 years. Steve was a family man who loved spending time with his family, kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed football, hockey, cooking, listening to music and riding his motorcycle. He was avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, often calling plays from his living room before the coach made the same decision on the field.

Steve was a very caring and giving person with a great sense of humor. He loved the Lord and was very proud of his most recent baptism that he shared with his wife, Angie.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by three sisters, and one brother.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Angela Laing; a daughter, Dana Laing; two sons, Konin Laing (fiancé, Haley) and Kamdin; four grandchildren, Annabelle, Dimitri, Magnolia, and Aiyana; one sister, Cheryl Laing; his mother-in-law, Annie Strickland; father-in-law, Glen Strickland (Judy); a sister-in-law, Lisa Roberson; brothers-in-law, Billy D. Willard and Doug Strickland; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at The Crossing Church located at 1130 N Main St, Kernersville, NC 27284.
