Steven Richard Robbins, 77, of Kernersville, NC lost a long but courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Frank and Annie Robbins on August 19, 1948, in Forsyth County.
Steve was a God-fearing, hardworking, and giving man. He enjoyed being outside, walks in the rain, drinking his morning coffee, and reading the bible. Steve was a friend you could always count on, someone who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. In his free time, he liked to watch his “Cowboy Pictures”, play horseshoes, and run around with his energetic dog, Layla. Steve was a simple man who loved his family dearly. He always cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Frank “Bud” Robbins; and sister, Brenda Worley.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Stephanie Lowe (Shawn); son, Steven Richard Robbins II; grandchildren, Whitney Nguyen (Johnny), and Jordan Lowe; great-grandchildren, Willow Nguyen, and Oliver Nguyen; siblings, Pat Parrish, Faye Drane, and Mary Stafford; best-friend, Mike Trent; sweet dog, Layla; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Union Grove Baptist Church. Officiating the service is Pastor Steve Roberson. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to WellCare Hospice, VA Oncology, and the Atrium Health Cancer Center for taking such amazing care of Steve over the years.
