Steven Westmoreland

Mr. Steven Lee Westmoreland, 64, passed away October 22, 2018 at W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. He was born November 23, 1953 in Guilford County to the late Richard Martin Westmoreland, Sr. and Florence Stafford Westmoreland. Mr. Westmoreland attended Northwest Guilford High School and he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 16 years. During his career in environmental services, he worked as a hazmat specialist in New York City during the recovery process of 9/11.  Mr. Westmoreland is survived by his two sons, Brian Lee Westmoreland (Tonya) and Kevin John Westmoreland; three grandchildren, Braylon, Richard, and Justin; two sisters, Linda Goodwin (Don) and Carolyn Glave (Denny); two brothers, Michael Westmoreland (Gail) and Richard Westmoreland, Jr.   He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Westmoreland will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The are no services scheduled at this time. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center for their care and concern of their loved one.
