Mrs. Sudarshan Kumari Kanoongo Chatrath, 87, of Clemmons, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018. She was born May 30, 1930 in India, to the late Jagjit Mohan Kanoongo and Yashwati Kanoongo. Mrs. Chatrath was very family oriented. She was not only a grandmother, but also a mother to the grandchildren. All their school life passed under her care and supervision from waking them up to breakfast and packing lunches, to arranging afterschool dinners. In the last few years she always expressed a desire and prayed to God to leave this world suddenly and without becoming dependable on anyone knowing well that she had several helping hands around her. Preceding her in death are her parents. Surviving are her husband, Madan Lal Chatrath; a daughter, Rita Sehgal; two sons: Sudhir Chatrath and wife Neeta, and Ashok Chatrath and wife Nishi; six grandchildren: Sunana Chatrath, Neha Chatrath, Rani Chatrath, Neera Chatrath, Rakesh Sehgal, and Sabina Sehgal; one sister, Kamla Poonga and husband Desraj of India; two brother-in-laws: Ram Parkash Chatrath and wife Padma of Chicago, IL, and Dharampaul Chatrath of India.
