Sue Blevins Johnson

Sue Blevins ""Sue Ellen"" Johnson, age 62, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on January 1, 2017 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, surrounded by her family. Born in Norton, Virginia, Sue moved to Durham, NC as a young woman, and graduated from Northern Durham High School in 1972. She went to work as a bank teller for Wachovia Bank and furthered her education in the American Institute of Banking. She later attended Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C. In 1988 Sue left the banking industry and went to work for MCI Telecommunications. Most recently, she worked as a Customer Service Specialist with A.T. &T. Sue lived for many years in Lewisville, North Carolina and moved to St. Augustine in 2010. She was a longtime member of Lewisville United Methodist Church and attended Anastasia Baptist Church in St. Augustine. In her free time, Sue loved spending time at the beach or gardening outside her home. She also enjoyed shopping, caring for her beloved pets and being with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. Sue was a sweet and Godly woman, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Edward Mitchell Johnson of St. Augustine; daughter, Lindsay Elizabeth Franklin of Durham, NC; son, Edward Colin Johnson, and his wife, Kirby, and grandchildren, Edward Blevin Johnson and Salem Davis Johnson of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Elizabeth Hancock of Rocky Mount, VA; and brother, Ronnie Blevins of Martinsville, Va.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Lewisville United Methodist Church in Lewisville, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Lewisville United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Lewisville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida in memory of Sue Johnson. St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, Florida, is in charge of arrangements.
