Sue Sheets Hughes

Mrs. Sue Sheets Hughes, 76, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on May 26, 1948, to the late Wesley “Jack” Sheets and Lucy Craft Sheets. Mrs. Hughes was a long-time member of Lewisville Baptist Church. She worked for many years in the insurance business and most recently at Michaels. She enjoyed crafting and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Oliver Buel Hughes, Jr.; son, Mark Christopher Hughes; brother, James Sheets and two sisters, Frances Yates and Louise Ballard. Surviving is her daughter, Tara Barr (Denny); three grandchildren, Jesse Barr, Wesley Barr, and Noah Barr; also surviving are two nieces, Denise Harris and Teresa Sheets and two nephews, Rodney Ballard and Randy Ballard. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Lewisville Baptist Church Cemetery.
