Susan Ann Griffiths

Susan Griffiths passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, after a four-year battle with breast cancer.

Susan was born on April 26, 1956, in Queens, NY. Growing up, she lived in many different places, wherever her father’s job took the family – Connecticut, Chicago, Bethesda, Maryland, and back to Connecticut. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1978 and immediately moved to Boston, MA, where she lived for ten years and met her husband, Tom Griffiths. On August 6, 1988, they were married. For over 28 years, they lived in Lansdale, PA, before moving to Winston-Salem, NC, in 2016 after retirement.

Susan is survived by her husband, Tom; son, Brendan and his husband, Kalan Warrick, of Washington, D.C.; mother, Joan Macfarlane of Bantam, CT; siblings, Nancy Wemple (Matt) of Clinton, CT, Ann Fitzgerald (Michael) of North Smithfield, RI, John Macfarlane (Laura) of Trumbull, CT, Amy Hannon (Roy) of Litchfield, CT, and Peter Macfarlane of Arlington, MA; brothers and sisters-in law, Robert Griffiths and Kathy Harriger of Winston-Salem, NC, and Dan and Laurie Griffiths of Clinton, NY; and a whole group of dear and loving friends, too numerous to list, that crossed her path over the past 69 years.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care that Susan received while fighting her cancer at the Derrick Davis Cancer Center, Forsyth Medical Center, and Trellis Supportive Care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, followed by a reception in the Robert F. Miller Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Stepping Stones Canine Rescue.
