Susan Nieters

Susan Henkel Nieters, 75, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born in Merrick, NY on April 2, 1943 to the late Francis Joseph and Catherine Enright Henkel.  Ms. Nieters was a devout Catholic and was a devoted member at Holy Family Catholic Church and previously at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a great cook.  Preceding her in death was a brother, Francis J. Henkel, Jr.  Surviving are five sons, Kevin Nieters (Debra) of Statesville, John Nieters (Lisa) of Clemmons, Mark Nieters (Stephanie) of Lexington, Gerard Nieters (Dana) of Denver, and Daniel Nieters (Mendi) of Raleigh; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Henkel (Hillary) of Tallahassee, FL and Gerard Henkel (Holly) of Orinda, CA; sister-in-law, Gail Henkel of Baltimore, MD; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons with Father Michael Buttner officiating.  An inurnment will follow the service at the church columbarium.  The family will receive friends during a luncheon following the inurnment service.  Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is serving the Nieters family.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
