Mrs. Sydney Jo Pearson, 27, died from an unexpected illness on October 20, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. Sydney was born on April 9, 1991, in Lexington, KY, to Dale Byron and Barbara Jo Puumala Pearson. She graduated from Alamance Christian School where she played basketball and soccer. Sydney was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves where she served 6 years as an 88M in the 991st trans. unit and served one tour in the Iraq war. She loved the United States women’s national soccer team, hiking in the mountains, and playing video games. She was caring, kind, genuine, and loved by all. She was truly a gem among stones and she will be dearly missed. Surviving is her wife and the love of her life for 8 years, Alicia Curtis; fur baby, Rowdy; mother, Barbara Pearson; father, Dale Pearson; maternal grandparents, Marshall and Nancy Puumala; paternal grandparents, Harvey Pearson and Judy Olson; two brothers, Drew Pearson (Kayla) and Adam Pearson (Christina); three nephews, Dallas, Gabriel, and Isaiah; and two nieces, Addison and Ruby. A graveside service will be held at 13:00hrs on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. The family will receive friends from 18:00hrs-20:00hrs on November 1, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.
