Sylvia Howerton Parham

Belews Creek - Sylvia Howerton Parham, 74, was truly a very sweet lady, and a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at her home. She was born May 31, 1939 in VA to the late Wilbur and Frances Pierce Howerton. Sylvia was a member of Belews Creek Christian Church and the Belews Creek Volunteer Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thomas Parham, and brother, Steve Howerton. Surviving are her three sons, Craig Parham and wife, Ellen, Scott Parham, Todd Parham and wife, Lori all of Belews Creek; her six grandchildren which were her pride and joy, Nick, Tanner, Grace, Tyler, Brook and Jack Parham; special aunt, Alice Pierce; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Belews Creek Christian Church with Rev. Larry Neal officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Stokes Co., PO Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 or Belews Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, PO Box 129, Belews Creek, NC 27009 The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Sylvia's caregiver, Donna Hicks for all of her love and support.
