Tannie Mae Tuttle Rutledge, 89, of Rural Hall, N.C., went to be with her Lord on January 23, 2016. She was born to the late Gideon Tuttle and Tannie Griffin Tuttle. Tannie was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church. She was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company with 27 years of service. Her family, singing and dancing was her passion and delight. She loved sharing the story with the family about being placed atop a piano as a little girl at Rural Hall School and singing ""Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf."" She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Odell Rutledge; son, Timothy Gray Rutledge; 2 brothers, LM Tuttle, James ""Buck"" Tuttle; 6 sisters, Miona Barr, Thelma Newsome, Dorothy Swaim, Ola Warren, Ruby Williams; 4 son-in-law's, Johnny Edwards, Jerry Kiser, Wallace Joyce, and Bill Flynt. Tannie is survived by five daughters; Judy Wall (Kermit) of Rural Hall, Gail Butner (Dexter) of Pinnacle, Shelby Flynt of Rural Hall, Hope Edwards of King, Teresa Iniguez ( Victor) of Raleigh; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. A graveside Memorial service will be held at the original Oak Grove Methodist Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Society, or The American Cancer Society. Tannie's family would like to thank friends and family for their ongoing prayers and support.
