“Ms. Tanya Fowler French, age 56, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, at her home in Clemmons, North Carolina, surrounded by her family. Tanya was born on March 23,1970, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, to Shelby Atlee Fowler Jr. and Donna Jannette Poole Fowler. She was preceded in death by her father, Shelby A. Fowler Jr.
As the daughter of a military family, Tanya spent much of her childhood moving throughout the world before eventually settling in Southern California. She graduated from Millikan High School, where she was active in music, drama, and gymnastics.
Tanya made her home in Virginia where she built a life centered around family, faith, music, and community. She became a proud mother of her daughter Amber and her son Bailey who both remained among the greatest joys of her life. Later, one of her favorite titles became “Gigi” following the birth of her grandson, Cole.
She maintained a tight knit circle of friends that shared her infectious energy and adventurous spirit. She loved them like her family.
Tanya shared her gift of music everywhere she went, touching countless lives through her voice to all that had the privilege of hearing her perform.
Tanya was a force of nature whom anyone would want in their corner, and always the first to drop everything to help someone in need. Her generous heart, talent, and vibrant personality made her well known in the local music scene as lead singer of Jagged Edge and Livin’ the Dream. Known as “Mom” by her bandmates for a good reason, she always has worked hard to keep the guys in line.
Above all, Tanya loved her family deeply. She is survived by the love of her life, Greg Nardi, of the home; her daughter, Amber Rusnock, husband John and grandson Cole of Columbus, Georgia; her son, Bailey Seaman, wife Morgan of Newport News, Virginia; her mother, Donna P. Fowler of Reston, Virginia; her brother, Eric Fowler; and her sister, Ashley Seaman.
A celebration of Tanya’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association.
Tanya’s voice, laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for others will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered in the echoes of the music she loved and entertained so many people with.”
