Ted Franklin Cook

Mr. Ted Franklin Cook, 86, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at his home in Clemmons, NC. Ted was born May 15, 1937, to the late Lance Lee Cook and Nell Ingram Cook, and raised on top of Beech Mountain in Elk Park, NC. 

Ted took pride in his career as co-owner of Piedmont Sheet Metal Company for 43 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a Master Mason of over 50 years at Enterprise Lodge in Clemmons, NC. Once retired, he enjoyed the pastimes of things he loved including gardening, fishing, and working in his woodworking shop. He was never short of projects and enjoyed going to the beach and mountains. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, and he was a caregiver to his beautiful wife all the way to the end. He was a man who never met a stranger and thought everyone had good intentions and would give or do anything for anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Lee Cook; sister, Clarice; and brothers, Luther and Bill. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years, Elwanda Carpenter Cook; two sons, Jeff (Dana) Cook and Keith (Marcie) Cook; his grandchildren, Lana (Edward) Gibson, Zach Cook and Josh Cook; one great-grandchild, Liam Gibson; sister, Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as an Elder, with Pastor Mark Harper and Honorable Judge Gordon Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.
