Thelma "Jackie" Williams Brewer

Mrs. Thelma “Jackie” Williams Brewer, 96, of Rural Hall, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2026, at her home with her three loving daughters by her side. She was born on December 27, 1929, in Forsyth County to the late Mr. John Hudson Williams and Mrs. Grace Collins Williams. Jackie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was cherished by her family.

Jackie was always known for her beautiful purple hair, and she was certainly proud of it. She was a longtime, faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, where she served the Lord for 50 years. She was a prayer warrior for many bus children and her family. She never missed an opportunity to witness to someone, always wanting to share what the Lord had done in her life and what He could do in theirs.

While we will greatly miss our Mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, we find comfort in knowing who holds her now. We are thankful for the promise of Heaven and the assurance that we will see her again. We will forever treasure the love she gave, the memories we shared, and the legacy of faith she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 68 years, Walter Earl Brewer and by a son-in-law, John Fulk.

Surviving are her three daughters, Denise Hopkins of Winston-Salem, Darrell Cromer (Mitch) of Rural Hall, and Dana Fulk of Advance; six grandchildren, Shanna Hopkins, Travis Hopkins (Michelle), Kelly Whiteheart (Garry), Wes Cromer (Kacee), Ben Fulk (Anna-Marie) and Wendy Coe (Aaron); and eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Preacher Justin Cooper, Brother Frank Shumate, and Brother Brian Vanderford officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday in the church sanctuary. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 105 N. Crutchfield Street, Unit 2, Dobson, NC 27017.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family.
