Thelma Geraldine Ragsdale

Thelma Geraldine Ragsdale, 88, went home to be with her LORD on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born on May 7, 1936, to the late Newton Daniel and Ethel Rea Cook Ragsdale. She was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church and previously actively involved in Antioch Baptist Church. Thelma's dedication to her faith was evident through her choir singing, Sunday school teaching and involvement in the Women’s Missionary Union. Thelma retired from Southern Tool and Die in Winston-Salem, NC. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Ragsdale and Willie G. Ragsdale; seven sisters, Josephine Hauser, Louise Stafford, Edith Lakey, Mary Nell Carson Niday, Betty Stonestreet, Geneva Ragsdale and Sylvia Clark; as well as half-siblings, James Ragsdale, Johnny Ragsdale and Jettie Hicks. Thelma is fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews across generations, each holding a cherished place in her heart. 

Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The funeral service will be held at Unity Baptist Church on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Benny Sprouse officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to limited cemetery parking, the family understands if you are unable to attend the graveside service.
