Thelma Messer Thompson

LewisvilleThelma Messer Thompson, 94, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She was born February 6, 1919 in Haywood County to the late Seymour and Nettie Plemmons Messer. Mrs. Thompson retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 32 years of service. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and always enjoyed visiting people especially in the nursing home. Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest Virgil Thompson, Sr.; son, Ernest Darrell Thompson; grandson, Jared Braxton Thompson and a sister, Bobbie Sink. Surviving is a daughter, Joanne Combs of Independence, VA; three sons, Dallas Thompson (Brenda) of Mocksville, Tommy Thompson (Robbie) of King, and E.V. Thompson (Tracy) of Lewisville; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; also surviving is a brother, Wayne Messer (Frankie) of Asheville and a sister, Gladys Drake of Yadkinville. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. David Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Lewisville Baptist Church Cemetery.
