Thomas 'Tommy' Greely Cox

Mr. Thomas G. Cox, 89, of Winston Salem, NC passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 10, 1924 in Yadkin County to the Late Paul and Carrie Lane Cox. Mr. Cox was a manager with the Asplundh Tree Co. for 45 years and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife: Mary Lou Cox, a son Jeffrey Cox, one sister: Beulah Lane, one brother: Elmer Cox. Surviving is his wife: Carolyn Cox, of the home, one daughter Darlene Venable and husband Steve, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five step-children, and one brother, Floyd Cox, East Bend. A funeral service will be conducted, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Chatman and Rev. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church 5900 Providence Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
