Thomas Lee Flynt, 64, of Winston-Salem was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2016. Thomas was born and raised in Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Samuel Ernest Flynt, Sr. and Mrs. Ruby Osborne Flynt, and a nephew Benjy Shane Flynt. His dad just passed a month ago. Thomas had been in declining health for several years. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Thomas was proud of his country and his service to the United States of America. After his service, Thomas spent several years helping kids through the Boy Scouts of America. He spent his life living at home with his parents and working with his dad as a roofer. Thomas was a loving brother to his four surviving siblings, Sammy Flynt of the home, Michael Flynt of Winston-Salem, Becky Whaley and husband Tim of Winston-Salem and Debbie Flynt of Clemmons. He had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Thomas enjoyed the time God granted him upon this beautiful world that He created. What a glorious time for Thomas as he is reunited with his mom, dad, family, friends, and most glorious of all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who told us, ""I go and prepare a home for you with My Father, if it were not true, I would have told you so."" A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Roy Flynt officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
