Thomas Edwin Gibson

Mr. Thomas Edwin ""Tom"" Gibson, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Gibson was born February 14, 1927 in Randolph County, NC to the late William Hardy and Martha Boyles Gibson. Tom attended Griffith School and was retired from the RJR Tobacco Company Engineering Dept. after 38 years of service. He was a life-long Moravian and was a US Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the Marshall Islands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William J. Gibson and two sisters; Ruby Sapp and Lillian Coggins. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Greta Wilson Gibson of the home, a daughter; Anna G. Holloway and husband, James of Hayes, Virginia, a sister, Eunice G. Montgomery of Winston-Salem, a sister in law, Ora Mae Gibson of Winston-Salem, and a number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
