Thomas Hayward

Kernersville – Mr. Thomas R. Hayward, 70, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 after a long battle with numerous health issues. He was a Combat Veteran, serving two tours, USMC, 1st Amphibian Company in Vietnam. He also served in the US Army and the US Army National Guard (MA). He retired from the United States Postal Service in Boston, MA.

He is predeceased by his mother, Mary Alongi; his sister, Nancy Mirabella; and his brother, David Collins.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three sons, Thomas (wife, Theresa) in MA and Timothy (wife, Victoria) in CA, and Edward (wife, Lucy) in OK; several grandchildren; and his brothers, Francis Emmett, and Edward Collins.

He was a life member of the DAV, VFW, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and 126th Signal Battalion Association.

No formal services are scheduled at this time. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
