Thomas Clark Meadows, Sr.

On November 20, 2014, Thomas Clark Meadows, Sr. left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Although our hearts are breaking our love for him will live on forever. Tommy was born on July 29, 1933 in Forsyth County to Buford and Myrtle Meadows and lived his life in Winston-Salem. In 1953, he married the love of his life, sweetheart and lifelong companion Barbara Dale. During their 61 years of marriage their tremendous love for one another was evident to all. He worked for McLean Trucking Company as a dock supervisor for 34 years and retired from Yellow Freight after 10 years of service. Tommy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always found great joy in spending time with his loving family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Buford W. Meadows and Myrtle Clark Meadows, and his sisters, Ruth Ann Meadows and Peggy Martin.

Surviving to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Barbara Dale Meadows; son, Buddy Meadows and wife Sabrina; daughter, Libby Teal; son, Garner Wayne Meadows and wife Jan; daughter, April Randleman and husband Keith; grandson, Timmy Leach; granddaughters, C. Nicole Spell-Meadows and Katelyn Sizemore; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Tyler Leach; and sister, Dorothy Stanley. Tommy attended Grace Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and was a real man of God. We know he is waiting patiently on us to join him in heaven.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Saturday, November 29th at 11:00 am with Rev. Roy Branson and Rev. Ed Sears officiating. The family will welcome friends immediately following the memorial. Donations honoring Tommy will also be accepted in lieu of flowers. Please send to Kate B.
