Thomas Moravec

Kernersville- Thomas Andrew Moravec, 56, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1963, in North Dakota to the late Conrad Thomas Moravec and Marilyn Noel Dronen Moravec.

Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Moravec was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. He was an Aircraft Mechanic who loved his job and the people he worked with at HAECO. Thomas was an avid foodie who loved grilling out and creating delicious rubs for the food he was grilling. He was affectionately known as “The King of the Green Egg.” He was an animal lover who was known throughout the years to rescue cats who needed good homes. Tom had a huge heart and was a friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years Jan Moravec; daughter, Cassondra; two sons, Justin and Tony; two grandchildren Camren and Brooklyn; sister, Tammy Leland and husband Tim; brother, Terry Moravec and wife Theresa; brother-in-law, Mark DeWyngaert and wife Lori; sister-in-law, Cheryl DeWyngaert-Goodwin; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at his home at a later date.
