Thomas Franklin Moutos passed away on Tuesday, November 14th surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 25th, 1934 in Klafsion, Karpenisi, Greece, Tom was the son of the late Fotios and Maria Moutos. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Chris F. Moutos. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Virginia Georgoulias Moutos of Winston-Salem; two wonderful sons of whom he was extremely proud, Franklin T. Moutos (Durham, NC) and Stuart T. Moutos (Raleigh, NC); and his close sister, Elizabeth Moutos Vlasis (Winston-Salem, NC). After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army, Tom became the owner and operator of T&M Construction and built numerous residential homes throughout the greater Winston-Salem area. Upon retiring from the construction business, he became a restauranteur and worked alongside three of his nephews in their successful business. Tom was a founding, active, and avid member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Winston-Salem for many years. Tom was loved by everyone! He had a terrific sense of humor, and kept his friends and family laughing throughout his life. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm on Thursday, November 16th, with a Trisagion service at 7:30 pm at the Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Dr., Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be conducted at the church at 11:00 am on Friday, November 17th with Father Demetri Kangelaris, Father George Vlahos, and Father Constantine Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is serving the family. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church.
