Mr. Thomas “Tom” David Neal, 81, passed away on July 2, 2024, at his home in Clemmons. He was born on December 17, 1942, in Guildford County to the late Thomas Neal and Nellie Gooch Neal. Tom retired from Hanes Brands after almost 30 years of service in the IT department. After retiring, Tom and his wife lived in Viera, Florida for six years where he enjoyed boating and serving as President of the HOA of Six Mile Creek neighborhood. Most of all, he loved being with his children and grandchildren. Tom’s love for his family had no depths. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles. Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carol Phillips Neal; four children, Kevin Neal (Tammy), Brian Neal (Tia), Christian Brooke (Brian Greene), and Heather Newby (Sean); four grandchildren, Tierra (James), Jasmine, and Jada Todd, and Leo Neal; two sisters, Becky Duncan and Kathy Hawkins; and many other extended family. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday July 6, 2024, at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
