Thomas Odell Walker

Mr. Thomas Odell Walker, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1927 in Forsyth County to Thomas ""Kye"" Hezekiah Walker and Lula Sell Walker. Mr. Walker was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Moravian Church. He worked at Gant Oil Company and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruby Robbins Walker; and a daughter, Judy Hayes. Surviving is one granddaughter, Keely Greer (Michael); two great granddaughters, Kayla and Lydia Greer; a sister, Marie Motsinger (Bill); and a niece, Vicky Combs (Larry). Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 1 at Oak Grove Moravian Church with the Rev. Matthew W. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oak Grove Moravian Church, 120 Hammock Farm Rd, Winston-Salem, NC, 27105.
