Thomas “Wade” Willard, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. 

A graveside service will be held 11 AM Monday, April 29, 2024, at New Philadelphia Moravian Church Graveyard with Rev. Sam Gray officiating. 

Mr. Willard was born July 23, 1932, in Surry County, to George Franklin Willard and Virginia Lawson Willard. He was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church and was also a longtime former member of Bethania Moravian. Thomas retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 33 years of service; following retirement, he was employed by Womble, Carlyle for six years. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Daniels Willard. 

Left to cherish his memory is his son, David Wade Willard (Marcia) of Winston-Salem; his daughter, Vickie W. Idol of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Jason Wade Willard of South Carolina, Anna W. Southworth (Mark) of Virginia, and Matthew Jester (Shelia) of Pilot Mountain; and seven great-grandchildren, Anna Jester, Katelyn Jester, Adrianna Willard, Alfred Southworth, Elizabeth “Effie” Southworth, William Southworth, and Edward Southworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
