Thomas "Tom" Mckenzie

Mr. Thomas “Tom” William McKenzie, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Clemmons Medical Center.  He was born April 18, 1940 in Forsyth County, the son of Jefferson and Daisy McKenzie.  Tom was an active church member of Boyer’s Chapel Church of Christ, was retired from R.J. Reynolds and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was an avid fisherman, played senior softball and helped everyone who asked for help.  Tom’s favorite pastime was to be with his dog, Murphy.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marian A. McKenzie.  Survivors include his sister, Gail M. Jones of Laurel Springs; his good friend, Verlie Ann Griffin of Pilot Mountain and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  A private family funeral will be held with a private visitation.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation, 3111 Harvey St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103
