Thurmond Everhart

Mr. Thurmond Odell Everhart, 81, died on October 10, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. Thurmond was born in Forsyth County on November 18, 1935, to Avory and Mamie Yontz Everhart. Thurmond retired from Douglas Battery after 35 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, woodworking, and bird watching. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Everhart, Otis Everhart, Wallace "Freck" Everhart, and Harry Everhart; and two sisters, Lucille Zimmerman and Alice "Sis" Smith. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Everhart; one son, Danny Everhart (Ferenda Styers); one daughter, Sharon Pauley (Donald); two grandchildren, Cristina Dellinger (Nathan), and Stephanie Bell (Matt); five great-grandchildren, Austin Dellinger, Haylee Dellinger, Hannah Dellinger, Caiden Isenhour, Lillian Bell, and one more on the way. Also surviving are his "#2" son, Jason Bodenheimer (Dianne); and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, 7029 Albert Pick Road, Ste. 200, Greensboro, NC 27409.
